Data Moshing with Glitch

There are many different services to steal videos from online sources, you can google terms like "video grabber," "youtube grabber," "youtube downloader," to find one that works. I have found one for you, here is the link:
I used this site to steal my own video from my youtube channel, "Twirling Tech Goddess".
For this process we used an older and fairly clunky video editing software called Avidemux. I wouldn’t personally recommend this software for everyday video editing, but it’s ideal for data moshing because it:
*is open source
*is used for cutting, filtering, encoding
*supports a number of different file types
*is free and works on Windows and Mac
*allows you to distinguish and manipulate specific frame types
Our lab (Techne) had Avidemux version 2.7.1 already installed on the Macs. The older version Avidemux 2.5.6 is the recommended version, but 2.7.1 works ok too.
Before we started to datamosh, we prepared the videos by re-encoding them using the step-by-step instructions provided here (https://www.autonomoussoup.com/single-post/datamosh) to get our videos ready for glitching!
